Delta Mu Zeta Chapter Goals for 2006-2007

  1. Chapter Goal
The Embellishment program will be updated/enhanced and ready to be put into production no later than January 2007. (G. Joanne Yarde)
    Chapter Strategy
The 1st Anti Basileus and her committee will work diligently, to update/enhance the original embellishment material to shape it into a more robust form to be utilized by all new initiates. This will be a comprehensive program to assist new members in becoming acquainted with the history, workings and dynamics of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc on National, Regional State and local levels. The updated program will be designed to last one year from the date of initiate’s induction into our organization.

  2. Chapter Goal
Increase our membership (via new membership intake/reclamation by 20%) that is at least a minimum of 11 new members. (G. Joanne Yarde and our current membership)
    Chapter Strategy
At the present time we have 5 perspective candidates that are interested in pursuing membership into the organization. The 1st Anti will communicate with them, invite them to our affairs and schedule an invitational to introduce them to our chapter members.

Now as a chapter we must continue to implement the “Every Member Get a Member” initiative. If each of us tries to bring in one new or reclaimed member we will supersede our goal of 11% growth.

  3. Chapter Goal
Chapter Constitution and By-laws need to be reviewed, recommendation for changes submitted, approved/ratified and ready for print no later than June 2007. (Chevonne Sharpe/Robin Buskey)
    Chapter Strategy
The Phylacter, her Co Chair and their committee will begin to review all constitutions (National, Regional and State) in order to update the chapter constitution to fall in line with the balance of the approved documentation. They will also solicit recommendations for updates to the chapter constitution from the membership.

  4. Chapter Goal
Storage space needs to be acquired no later than December 2006 (Kim McDonald)
    Chapter Strategy
The chapter Epistoleus will begin to investigate different Storage facilities in an effort to determine which facility will be the most adequate to suit the chapter needs. (Cost and space wise)

  5. Chapter Goal
Categorizing and filing of chapter documents and historic items will be an on-going project throughout the year. (Kim McDonald)
    Chapter Strategy
The Epistoleus and her committee will begin the painstaking task of collecting the various records/documentation/memorabilia from chapter Sorors who have been housing this information in their homes in order to keep a better track of it. As the committee begins to collect the various information they will catalog the items and in some cases place them in special covering in order to keep the information safe from fading before boxing up the information and placing it in the chapter’s storage facility.

  6. Chapter Goal
A chapter history book will be created in phases:
    • First Phase for review will be due on or before December 2006
    • Second Phase for review will be due on or before March 2007
    • Third Phase for review will be due on or before June 2007
    • The final phase will be due on or before September 2007.
This will give our chapter Epistoleus sufficient time to create a product, which we all will be proud of. (Kim McDonald)
    Chapter Strategy
The Epistoleus and her committee will begin to compile detailed documentation, via the interview process of our Sorors, in order to obtain biographical histories of their experiences and triumphs in Zeta; as well as to flesh out the history of our chapter from it’s humble beginnings to present day.

  7. Chapter Goal
The Chapter Newsletter will be revamped and published on a quarterly basis. First addition due December 2006. (Amber Swanston)
    Chapter Strategy
The newly appointed Newsletter Editor will be responsible for publishing the chapter newsletter on a quarterly basis. She will present thought provoking articles in reference to our chapter activities, highlighting our ZHOPE, Undergraduate, Youth and Amicae activities for each quarter as well as highlights of our own members and their achievements.

  8. Chapter Goal
We will need to concentrate on obtaining at least 1 substantial financial grant in order to supplement our scholarships on or before June 2007 (Ella Collins- Nelson)
    Chapter Strategy
The newly appointed chapters grant writer will begin to investigate various companies/corporations, which donate funds to charitable organizations. Once she has gathered this information she will begin to send out the required information in order for our chapter to be considered.

She will also look into the various government agencies, which bestow grants to organizations that do philanthropic work in their various communities and abroad. Once she has gathered this information she will develop a proposal to submit to the agencies in order for our chapter to be considered.

  9. Chapter Goal
The Chapter Handbook will be resurrected/updated and ready for distribution no later than January 2007 – First Phase (Michelle Steven)
    Chapter Strategy
The newly appointed Handbook chair and her committee’s responsibility are to develop a chapter handbook, which will be used as an informative tool for our membership. This handbook will contain the prescribed financial procedures developed by the financial team/Basileus, as well as information on basic parliamentary procedures and proper protocol behavior. Also included will be the directories of the elected officials on National, Regional, State and Chapter levels, the embellishment program guide and the most updated copies of constitutions and bylaws across the board.

  10. Chapter Goal
Raise a minimum of $2000.00 in pledges for Walk America, April 2007. This would be a 19% increase from last year. (We raised $1681.00) (All financial members need to be involved) (Celeste Glenn/Cecilia Prichard)
    Chapter Strategy
We will begin to solicit sponsors earlier than the month of the walk in order to reach our goal.

  11. Chapter Goal
Resume paying our National Capital Campaign commitments for the purpose of paying off our newly renovated National Headquarters.
    Chapter Strategy
All members that owe a balance on their pledges should actively strive to pay off the balance on or before June 2008 and all members that have not made a pledge should make a pledge to actively support our newly renovated National headquarters. (Valerie Hollingsworth)

The Basileus will contact National Headquarters to obtain the most recent updated report of Capital Campaign pledges for her chapter. Once received she will work from this listing to inform all members what they have paid and what they might owe and keep track of the payments, send them into National on a timely basis and report this information to the appropriate parties on State, Regional and National levels.

  12. Chapter Goal
Our Goal is to complete a minimum of 30 ZHOPE initiatives for the 2006-2007, fiscal year. (Please note these will be above and beyond the bonus projects)
    Nine – Women Components
    Six - Youth Components
    Six - Men Components
    Nine - International Women components
    (Cecilia Prichard)
    Chapter Strategy
The newly appointed ZHOPE chair will work in conjunction with the Youth coordinators to ensure the Youth Seminars are conducted according to the prescribed information found in the ZHOPE manuals and the ZHOPE Chair and her committee will organize the balance of the seminars for the Women and Men components, along with working closely with the Basileus on the International Women components.

  13. Chapter Goal
To design/develop our very own Chapter Logo, which will be displayed on our chapter letterhead, Marketing Materials, Handbooks and brochures, etc. (Cecilia Prichard/Joanne Yarde)
    Chapter Strategy
The Logo team will work together to design a chapter logo, which will reflect the essence of Delta Mu Zeta. This logo will be used as our marketing tool for our chapter but in no way will replace the authorized National shield and ZHOPE emblem of Zeta.

    Chapter Strategy
Depending on the chapter’s financial status we will look to at least pay half of 2 members registration fee to attend the upcoming conference in July 2006.
