The first Vice President of Delta Mu Zeta is Soror G. Joanne Yarde who has been a Zeta for over 14 years. Soror Yarde has held numerous positions in the chapter and also on the State and Regional level. She is currently the National Director of Protocol and was appointed to the position in September 2004 by International President, Barbara C. Moore.
Professionally, Soror Yarde is employed at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as the Director of Revenue. In this capacity she is responsible for the oversight and management of the agency's $900 million revenue budget and the planning and administering of all revenue operations including the direct supervision of six revenue units with a total staff of 80 employees.
Soror Yarde received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Service Administration from Lehman College and a Masters in Public Administration with a concentration in Public Policy Analysis from NYU's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
Soror Yarde resides in Brooklyn and is very active with her community and serves as the Treasurer of the 129 member Good Neighbors Block Association.
